How to choose if a full session or mini session is right for your family.

I love working with young families as a Dallas family photographer. Each stage goes by so fast and these are the days you will want to remember. Photos give you that memory!

How long has it been since your entire family has been in a photo together? That includes Mom getting out from behind the camera and in the photo! Is it a photo that you love? Does it show your authentic personalities and unique connection? Do you have it hanging in your home?

If it has been way too long, then it’s time to schedule a family photo session! But what type of session is best for you? I’m here to help!

I offer two types of sessions at Erica Grandin Photography: Full Sessions and Mini Sessions. Let’s look at the benefits of each type of session to decide which would work best for your family photos.

Full Photo Session

A full session is 1-2 hours reserved just for your family with me. These are ideal for newborn and baby milestones as well as family photos throughout the year. Before your session, you will receive a questionnaire so I can get to know your family better. We will discuss location options and book a specific date on my calendar. I will then send you an in-depth client experience guide to help you prepare for the session and guide your outfit selection. All in-home sessions are full-length sessions and will include a home tour to find the best light.

Leading up the session you will have direct access to me for any questions or concerns! During the session, we will explore and play together. Your kids can just be themselves and we will never yell at them to say “cheese” at the camera! Interactions will be natural and we will have fun! With enough time to make sure everyone is comfortable, you will end up with a gallery of 40+ images that show movement, emotion, and laughter. Book your own session now!

  • Your own reserved date and time
  • A custom location chosen just for your family
  • Extensive client experience guide
  • At least 1 hour of shooting with the 2nd hour reserved for you if needed
  • All images from your session included in your online gallery
  • Approximately 40-50 high-resolution fully edited digital images with print release for downloading and sharing

Mini Sessions

A few times a year I will offer mini sessions to my clients. These mini sessions are a great opportunity to have professional photos of your family in-between the seasons when you book full sessions. Mini sessions will generally have a theme for the season such as spring wildflowers, fall/winter holidays, etc. There are a limited number of slots available for each session and these are only offered seasonally.

Mini session sign-ups will be released to my newsletter clients first! Sign up here to make sure you are the first to know when mini sessions are released. These fill up fast and you will want to sign up ASAP.

  • Seasonal sessions offered on a limited basis
  • Date and location pre-selected based on the theme
  • 15-20 minutes per family
  • 5-7 fully edited high-resolution digital images included with your session fee

Returning clients and the newsletter list are always the first to know when new session times are open for booking! Sign up here to make sure you are the first to know when sessions are released and be in the know on all things Erica Grandin Photography – Dallas Family Photographer.
