As a North Dallas newborn photographer, I see lots of babies and new moms every month. I have even met some of them in the hospital right after giving birth for their First 48 hospital photo session!

Hospital Bag Checklist from your North Dallas Newborn Photographer

1. Nursing Pillow
   A boppy or similar nursing pillow is a huge help when learning to breastfeed for the first time. It helps to save your back and positions babies right where they need to be.
   
   
2. Extra Long Phone Charger
   Outlets are far away from the bed!
   
   
3. Your Own Bath Towel
   Hospital towels are super tiny and you will definitely be ready for a shower during your hospital stay, trust me.
   
   
4. Your Own Pillow
   The pillows in the hospital are SO thin! You will love having your own pillow from home.
   
   
5. Extra Hair Ties, Chapstick, Hand Lotion
   Hospitals can be very dry. A few extra toiletries will go a long way.
   
   
6. Socks or Slippers
   
   
7. Nursing + Hands-Free Pumping Bra
   If you are breastfeeding, you may want to start pumping in the hospital to help stimulate your milk to come in faster.
   
   
8. Your Favorite Snacks
   I’m big on snacks. I bring a bag for just my snacks alone!
   
   
9. Comfortable, Neutral Robe or Nursing Gown for Mom for your First 48 Photos
10. Cute Swaddle or Onesie for baby for Newborn Photo Announcement
    
    #9 and #10 on the list are for your First 48 hospital photos! You don’t need to have hair and makeup done or look perfect, these photos are all about the simplicity of you and your baby meeting for the first time. As your North Dallas newborn photographer, I will make sure you are super comfortable the entire time!
